Katsuragi-no-Sato, Oku Hida Hot Spring

Hot spring resort with a limited number of guests per day (10 groups). This Onsen-Ryokan offers a relaxing stay in a detached old private house. Forget the hustle and bustle of the city, take a relaxing soak in the hot spring and enjoy the irori fireplace (open hearth). I would like to introduce " Irori no Yado Katsuragi no Sato " located in Okuhida, Gifu Prefecture. When I decided to go on a trip to Gifu Prefecture, I wanted to stay at a quiet and quaint ryokan where I could spend some relaxing time. So, I searched the internet and then found an attractive ryokan within wonderful features, such as "only 10 groups per day", "all rooms are private rooms in the detached houses", and "meals by the irori fireplace". This "Irori no Yado Katsuragi no Sato" is an unusual ryokan with a hallway connecting the main building to detached houses. Special Kaisen-don with sea urchin and red salmon roe

Because I wanted to eat tasty seafood, my husband and I went to Suzume, the Japanese Seafood Restaurant in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. I ordered 'Kaisen-don (seafood bowl)' with 'Uni (sea urchin)' and 'Ikura (red salmon roe)'. This Kaisen-don was a very satisfying dish with lots of sea urchin and salmon roe. If you love sea urchin and salmon roe like I do, you will definitely love this bowl!! Suzume is worth a visit or two, as it has many other delicious and tasty seafood dishes on its menu. Next time, I would like to try another seafood bowl! Source: Google map Suzume is located in front of Choshi Port and always crowed with many residents and tourists. If you don't wanna wait in line, you should go there before the restaurant opens, 11:30 pm. Even though you arrive at the restaurant before it opens, you still have to wait in line for the opening since many tourists come here. Have you ever heard ' Kawahaba Udon' before? Well, this is a specialty food of Konosu City in Saitama Prefecture in Japan. I had planned to eat Kawahaba Udon as lunch when I visited the city a couple years ago, but I couldn't go there at that time due to my schedule. But the other day, I finally could try this ' Konosu Kawahaba Udon '! The name of ' Kawahaba Udon ' comes from the fact that the width of Arakawa River flowing through the western part of Konosu City, which is about 2,537m (about 1.576 mile), is the widest in Japan. In 2009, Konosu City asked restaurants within the city to develop this Kounosu Kawahaba Udon named after the "widest riven in Japan" as a part of the town revitalization. There are several types of Kawahaba Udon , which have become known as a specialty of Konosu City since they appeared in the media.  I'll start my new blog here in Blogger.  This is my first try to write my daily blog in English, so I'm not sure what to write exactly but, one thing for sure is that I'm gonna try to deliver Japanese-related information since I'm living in Japan.
